What is a Llama?

Llamas are cute animals though not small, usually 5 feet tall and can weigh up to 200 kilograms -  they are just adorable.  They are usually found in South America.  You may be able to ship one to your country but there are rules.  Make sure you look after them because they can live up to 25 years.  So by the time you will be an adult and start your own family, make sure you take llama with you.  Or, if you look after one at a later age, make sure you can ask someone else to look after them if you end up in a care home.

According to Wikipedia, llamas existed about 40 million years ago.  Erm, that's like before Adam and Eve???  I am not sure.

Llamas belong to the camel family, I heard, and without the hump - thank God! That's an additional weight to the poor thing.

But they definitely belong with the family of Alpacas. sigh!

Llamas were or are still used as "guard dogs" to other farm animals. Wow. They are quite calm and friendly - like a few human beings I know of.  But not a lot.

They get along with alpacas, lambs and sheeps! Good choice of friends.

Because llamas are so sociable, it might not be a good idea to bond them with other llamas while guarding other animals.  They will chat around and not do their jobs.  At least they can't use phones!
